The Reds went on to win the title with a thumping 3-0 victory over Etoile Sahel in the final. Ahli 2-0 ASEC 2007 1-0 vs. Ittihad (Libya) Second leg Al-Hammadi (own goal) 22' The Egyptian champions managed to hold on for a clean sheet in Tripoli, before edging the second leg 1-0 in Cairo, thanks to a first-half own goal. Ahli relinquished their title to Tunisia's Etoile Sahel in the final though, losing 3-1 in Cairo. 2008 1-0 vs. Enyimba (Nigeria) Second leg Flavio 25' A vital goalless draw in Aba left Ahli with the task of winning in Cairo and it was the notorious Gilberto-Flavio combination that sent the Reds to the final. In the final, Jose's men regained their title by beating Cotonsport of Cameroon. Ahli 1-0 Enyimba 2010 2-1 vs. Esperance (Tunisia) First leg Fathi 38', Fadl 68' – Darragi 73' It was the first leg and everything was going well for the Reds as Mohamed Fadl and Ahmed Fathi scoring at Cairo Stadium, although there was a clear handball suspicion in the first one. However, a 73rd minute goal from Esperance captain and star man Oussama Darragi changed everything and gave the Tunisians crucial lifeline.
