Zamalek chairman Mamdouh Abbas has refuted speculation suggesting the return of Hossam Hassan as manager, insisting that coach Jorvan Vieira has the board's full support. A series of reports linked ex-coach Hassan with a return to the Zamalek bench even though Brazilian Vieira has been appointed only two weeks ago. “It is totally untrue that we are in talks with Hassan," Zamalek chief Abbas told the club's website. “We have a high-profile manager with a decent history and we will continue to support him in every way." It is believed that club patron and film scenarist Medhat Al-Adl is the one trying to persuade Abbas to ditch Vieira and reappoint Hassan as team manager. Hassan - currently in charge of the suspended Masri - was surprisingly sacked last year to be replaced by Hassan Shehata, who left after last month's Champions League defeat to Ahli. Zamalek have been going through a dismal run of results which saw them lose four consecutive games in the CAF Champions League.
