Egypt coach Hany Ramzy has named three senior players in his final Olympic squad, including Mohamed Abou-Treika, Emad Meteb and Ahmed Fathi. The Ahli trio was added as three players over the age of 23, even though the Reds said that star midfielder Abou-Treika was injured in Sunday's Champions League win over Mazembe. The exclusion of Harras Hodoud winger Ahmed Eid comes as a huge surprise after the Egypt international featured in the recent Toulon Tournament and the Arab Cup of Nations. “I felt that Abou-Treika, Fathi and Meteb will be more useful to the team's needs than Eid, with all due respect to his talent," Egypt Olympic boss Ramzy told FilGoal.com. “I informed him about it and he respectfully understood the decision." Zamalek striker Amr Zaki, who played in the Arab Cup as well, was also overlooked by Ramzy even though he said he was enthusiastic about playing at the Olympics. Egypt will open their Olympic campaign against Brazil on July 27 before taking on Belarus and New Zealand.
