Ahli registered a 0-0 draw with Ethiopian Coffee in the Champions League round of 32 first leg in Addis Ababa. In their first competitive match after last month's Port-Said disaster, the Egyptian champions claimed a relatively-satisfying away draw against the Ethiopian minnows. It is a third consecutive stalemate between the two clubs, who met in the 1998 competition preliminaries when the unfancied Bunye earned a shock berth on the away-goal rule, following 1-1 and 2-2 draws. The second leg takes place in Cairo in a fortnight. Goalkeepers It was an evenly-balanced encounter as both sides had a chance to edge the game but the two goalkeepers made sure of keeping clean sheets by making some crucial saves at either end. Ahli keeper Sherif Ekrami was called into action more than once, making a couple of fine blocks to deny the home side. Ahli also had their fair share of chances, with Geddo heading wide a free header, that proved nothing compared to Mohamed Abou-Treika's glaring injury-time miss into the hands of keeper Gebrekidan Mussei.
