Egypt have called on the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to postpone this month's CAN 2013 qualifier with Central African Republic in the wake of the ongoing unrest, according to the FA's website. Egypt are supposed to face the African minnows in the qualifiers' preliminary round on February 29, but the recent Port-Said disaster forced off all sports competitions in the country. The Egyptian football governing body, currently without a board following the resignation of chairman Samir Zaher and his crew, is run by the executive office, from which came the request to postpone the first-leg game. Meanwhile, the national team are normally expected to start a pre-match camp next week, excluding Ahli players who are still psychologically affected by the deadly events of their game at Masri. The African champions, managed by Bob Bradley, are set to play two friendlies during their home camp but are still waiting for the authorities approval.
