Essam Al-Hadari has been fined by Merreikh for returning late from a trial with Hull City following an unsuccessful attempt to join the English club. Merreikh said on their website that the 38-year-old goalkeeper failed to show up on Thursday and was accordingly fined $5,000. Shortly before the summer transfer deadline, Al-Hadari's proposed move to Hull fell through after Merreikh failed to agree terms with the Championship side over a four-month loan. The Egypt keeper now looks set to spend the rest of the season in Khartoum, despite his earlier intention to leave. Merreikh, currently on top of the Sudanese league table, resume their domestic campaign next week when they visit mid-table Al-Neel.
