Ahli boss Manuel Jose admitted that his side were far from convincing in Sunday's Champions League stalemate at MC Alger. The Egyptian champions were held to a goalless draw by the Algerians to miss out on going top of Group B ahead of Wydad Casablanca and Esperance. “The team didn't deserve to win, especially with our poor finishing during the game,” Jose was quoted by Ahli's website. “Of course we missed (Mohamed) Barakat, (Hossam) Ghaly and (Ahmed) Fathi, but that's not an excuse. “I won't dwell on absences, big teams should deal with these cases and Ahli have many players who can perform in big matches instead of their teammates.” With the Alger draw, Ahli dropped their seventh point in four matches as they need to get positive results from their remaining two games against joint-leaders Esperance and Wydad.
