By Abeer Anwar AHLI of Egypt tomorrow host Algeria's MC Alger in the group stage of the African Champions League Group B matches, Abeer Anwar reports. After two matches, Ahli and MC Alger share third and fourth place with just one point each, three points behind Wydad of Morocco and Esperance of Tunisia who have four points each. This will be Ahli's third match after drawing 3-3 with Wydad in the opener, then losing 1-0 to Esperance. "This is a very important match and Ahli as a team have to win both matches in Egypt and Algeria to keep our hopes alive of challenging for the Champions League title," Emad Meteb, Ahli's deadly striker, said on the club's website. "It will also restore the players' confidence in their abilities." MC Alger attacker Mobi Tong was quoted as saying the match was a "golden opportunity for our team to make up for its previous losses. Ahli's players are weak and disorganised and as a team they lack group work and team spirit." Ahli will be missing star midfielder Mohamed Barakat who has a fractured arm. On the national level, Egypt and Algeria have had some terrific battles most recently in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers from which Algeria advanced. Meantime, Ahli coach Manuel Jose is reportedly looking for a new goalkeeper following unconvincing displays by Ahmed Adel Abdel-Moneim and Sherif Ikrami.
