Zamalek manager Hossam Hassan has demanded six new players in order to mount a serious title challenge next season. Hassan's side topped the league for 16 successive weeks, before Ahli leapfrogged them to the summit. The board responded to the recent poor results by announcing that they will appoint a "football operations committee" to assist Hassan and his twin Ibrahim in managing the team affairs. "I have no problem with that," Hassan told FilGoal.com. "But if this committee has to play a role in the new signings. We (him and Ibrahim) have been doing lots of efforts to bring in quality players with no help from the club. "I need six super stars for the new season to be able to fight for the league title. They have to sign them for me." The Hassan twins were in talks with Hossam Ghaly and Mohamed Shawky, who joined Ahli as well as Ahmed Eid, whose team Harras Hodoud refused to sell him.
