The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has temporarily lifted the suspension of former Portugal coach Carlos Queiroz. Queiroz was handed a six-month ban for insulting anti-doping agents before the World Cup finals in South Africa, where his side were eliminated at the last 16 stage after losing to eventual winners Spain. "CAS has granted the request filed by Carlos Queiroz to stay the execution of the six-month suspension imposed by the Portuguese anti-doping agency pending the outcome of his appeal," the tribunal said on its website on Friday. "The suspension is therefore temporarily lifted," it added. The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) sacked Queiroz following the ban although he had two years to run on his contract. Former Sporting coach Paulo Bento replaced him on Tuesday to rescue a faltering Portugal side who made a dismal start to their Euro 2012 qualification campaign.
