Aston Villa have turned an offer from big-spenders Manchester City for England midfielder James Milner. "We have received an offer from Manchester City for James Milner and this has been firmly rejected," said a Villa spokesman. "We plan to sit down with James and his representative after the World Cup to agree a new long-term deal and this remains our position." Reports suggest that an offer of around £20million was tabled for the services of Milner, who joined Villa from Newcastle in 2008 for £12million. Milner, who was voted PFA Young Player of the Year this season, is part of England's World Cup squad.
