Bolton manager Owen Coyle hit out at Arsenal after what he described as an 'assault' from William Gallas on Mark Davies during his side's 4-2 defeat in the Premier League. Arsenal stormed back after going two down to beat Bolton and grab the Premier League summit. Cesc Fabregas scored the equalizer as Gallas made a harsh challenge on Davies during the build up to the goal, amid appeals from the Bolton players and coach. "I think it was closer to an assault than a tackle," Coyle told Sky Sports after the game. "I felt it was over the ball and he's certainly not touched any of the ball and my lad's in with suspected serious ankle damage and there's no doubt it was a free-kick for us. "I would suggest it's probably closer to a sending-off as far as I'm concerned and it went against us.
"I didn't see much fair play in kicking the ball out when the lad's down with a serious injury, but there you go." 'Let's compare' Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said he didn't clearly see the play and went on to question Bolton's physical approach of the game. "Listen, if you look at the tackles that we have got in the last two games you can get in our dressing room and see our legs," he said. "We got clattered absolutely from everywhere and if they can complain - I don't know I haven't seen yet the tackle from Gallas, I want to watch it again - but it didn't look to me from outside that it was very bad. "I could show you some tackles if you want - you put them all together in the two games, their tackles and our tackles, and then we can compare." Wednesday's game was the second clash between the two sides this week. Arsenal also won the first game 2-0.
