Mario Balotelli scored the only goal of the game to lift Inter Milan over Chievo and send the Nerazzurri 11 points clear on top of the Serie A table. The Ghana-born striker scored in his second attempt after being set up by a deft pass from Wesley Sneijder in the 11th minute. The goal steered some controversy as Chievo had a convincing penalty appeal before Inter stroke on the counter, when Sergio Pellissier was felled by Ivan Cordoba. Inter have 42 points at the summit, 11 ahead of city rivals AC Milan, but the latter have two games in hand. The rest of this week's Serie A games will all be played later on Tuesday.
