Barcelona grabbed an easy 2-0 victory at bottom club Xerez to stretch the gap with Primera Liga rivals Real Madrid to five points.
A Thierry Henry header and a delicate chip from Zlatan Ibrahimovic sealed the win for Pep Guardiola's men, who visit Deportivo at the weekend.
Barca remain top with 33 points from 13 games, one game more than Real who will host Almeria on Saturday.
The Catalans will travel to UAE next week to take part in the FIFA Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi.
