The downside to Ahli's 1-0 Egyptian Premier League victory over Petrojet was the injuries Moataz Eno and Emad Meteb picked up, coach Hossam Al-Badri said. The Red Devils moved six points clear the top of the table when a stoppage-time shot from veteran midfielder Ahmed Hassan helped them overcome second-placed Petrojet in Suez. They claimed valuable three points but saw Egypt striker Meteb, who returned from a lengthy injury layoff last month, suffer a hamstring injury before the break. Holding midfielder Eno sustained what appeared to be a serious injury. Initial diagnosis suggested that he damaged his cruciate ligament. Both players are unlikely to be available for Ahli when they meet arch-rivals Zamalek in the Cairo derby on December 8. "The victory was somewhat tasteless because of the injuries, especially Eno's," Al-Badri said after the game. "It seemed that the referee was not there. He should have booked several Petrojet players on numerous occasions." Striker Mohamed Fadl thought he had put Ahli in front in the first half when his header crossed the line before Petrojet keeper Ahmed Fawzi pushed it away. The referee waved play on though. "The refereeing committee should punish him, we could have lost two points because of his astonishing decision," Al-Badri added.
