A last-gasp striker from Lisandro Lopez gave Lyon a precious 1-1 draw with Liverpool that saw the French side reach the UEFA Champions League round of 16 on Wednesday. Argentine striker Lopez hit the leveler with a close-range clinical finish in the last minute of the game, to help the home side qualify for the next round. Seven minutes earlier, Liverpool took the lead after Ryan Babel rifled a 25-metre shot. Another Group E match saw Fiorentina batter minnows Debrecen 5-2 at home. Adrian Mutu put the hosts ahead 14 minutes after the kickoff, but Gergely Rudolf equalized seven minutes from halftime. Dario Dainelli restored Fiorentina's one-goal cushion in the 52nd minute, and Riccardo Montolivo doubled their league seven minutes later. On minute past the hour mark, Marco Marchionni netted the fourth for the Serie A team, before Adamo Coulibaly pulled one back for Debrecen 20 minutes from time. Fiorentina's Alberto Gilardino completed the rout on 74 minutes. Lyon now top Group E with ten points, one ahead of second-placed Fiorentina. Liverpool are third with four points, while Debrecen lie bottom with no points.
