Marseille center-half Souleymane Diawara has apologized after injuring Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo in the Champions League last month. Diawara's fierce tackle on Ronaldo forced the latter out of the game with an ankle injury, which was eventually aggravated in Portugal's 3-0 win over Hungary. "I am sorry. I am sad and it's been tormenting me these last few days. I didn't intend to injure him," the Senegal international told Spanish daily AS. "I hope from the bottom of my heart that he recovers as quickly as possible. "I was so pleased to be marking Kaka or Cristiano Ronaldo. It was a dream come true now with the defeat and everything that happened with Cristiano, it has become something dismal." Ronaldo is facing up to four weeks on the sidelines and is set to miss Real's clash with AC Milan next week.
