Ismaili reinforced their frontline by signing Azerbaijani striker Branimir Subasic on a free transfer upon the recommendation of new coach Nebojsa Vuckovic. The 27-year-old joins the Dervishes after his contract with Serbian side Red Star Belgrade expired. "We finalized the deal. Subasic has penned the contract and will arrive in Ismaili on Sunday," the club's football director Ihab Galal told FilGoal.com on Thursday. "Vuckovic believed that Subasic would be a valuable addition to Ismaili's squad." Ismaili brought in Subasic to fill the void left by the departure of striker Mohamed Fadl, who joined their rivals Ahli following his deal's expiry. They are also tracking another foreign frontman in Tunisian Mohamed Sellitti. Egyptian clubs are allowed to register up to three foreigners in their domestic squad. Ismaili have within their ranks Iraqi striker Mostafa Karim. Despite their financial worries, the last season's runners-up are aiming to strengthen their squad to remain in the hunt for their first league title since 2002. They acquired the services of Egypt's veteran keeper Essam Al-Hadari, who opted to leave Swiss side Sion after just one season of joining them, and Strasbourg full-back Ahmed Abou-Mosallam.
