A memorable night in Johannesburg witnessed a historic victory for Egypt over World champions Italy in the FIFA Confederations Cup.
Mohamed Hommos notched his first-ever international goal, and the Ismaili captain is unlikely to score a more important one in his ongoing career.
Hassan Shehata's team maintained their second-half revival in the Brazil game, but this time they came out as victors against one of the world's heavyweights.

Essam Al-Hadari (9): The Egypt number one was absolutely impeccable, especially in the second half.
He made a number of world class saves to deny the Italians after the break; a genuine contender for man of the match.
Hani Saied (7.5): He was cool and organized as usual, which helped his defense partners overcome Italy's pressure in the second half.
Wael Gomaa (8): Solid as ever; Gomaa won countless headers from the Azzurri strikers throughout the 90 minutes.
The veteran center-half showed marvelous stamina to silence the skeptics claiming he has become too old to represent Egypt.
Ahmed Saied 'Ouka' (7.5): Following two torrid matches against Algeria and Brazil, the inexperienced defender repaid Shehata's faith with a concrete performance against the European giants.
Sayed Moawad (8): The diminutive full-back has hardly produced a game like this one during the whole last season with Ahli.
His pace on the left flank caused havoc to Italy, but he was short of fitness midway through the second half and had to be replaced with Farag.
Ahmed Fathi (9): Resolute, valiant, relentless and composed. The Italians couldn't fancy a maneuver from the right flank with Fathi present.
He has been crucial to Ahli's league season and so his bravery is a critical asset in Egypt's quest to reach the 2010 World Cup.

Al-Hadari was impeccable
The ex-Sheffield United man is increasingly proving that his return to Egypt was no personal failure, but was rather an unfair judgment.
Hosni Abd-Rabou (8.5): Abd-Rabou's solid display evoked memories of his staggering CAN 2008 campaign.
His faultless passing enabled him to form a lethal midfield line with Shawky and Hommos, and he was magnificent in defense as well, making a number of key clearances.
Mohamed Shawky (8): He sustained the great shape he appeared in during the unforgettable second half with Brazil.
Shawky's positioning is one of the most important attributes of his game and when he's in form, his contribution is vital for Egypt.
Mohamed Hommos (8.5): The momentous strike is enough to make Hommos a local hero for a long time and his debut goal is definitely cemented among Egypt's all-time favorites.
In addition to the goal, Hommos' work rate was outstanding, and his unexpected inclusion in the starting line-up was a masterstroke by Shehata.
Mohamed Abou-Treika (8): As usual, the magician played a pivotal role in the game with his dazzling flair.
He was the architect of the only goal, which puts him on top of the assist charts for the competition so far.
Mohamed Zidan (6): He was nowhere near his form in the previous game and an early knock seemed to have hindered his progress tonight .
Ahmed Eid (6.5): His second-half inclusion didn't add much, but the wide man was handed a striker's role after replacing Zidan, which restrained his skill factor.
Ahmed Samir Farag (6.5): It was difficult for him to fill in the void of Moawad, but he managed to stand firm during the tense finale.
Ahmed Hassan (6): The skipper came on late in the game and had little impact.
