Brazil have comfortably cruised 3-0 past a mediocre USA side to edge closer to the Confederations Cup semi-finals. The Selecao lead Group B with six points, while USA are rock bottom with no points. Dunga applied a number of changes to the side that edged Egypt on Monday, the most significant of which was Maicon's replacement for Daniel Alves. Early Lead Just like they did against Egypt, Brazil stung early on when Felipe Melo headed in Maicon's freekick cross. The US pushed forward in an attempt to work a breakthrough, but they were punished by a superb counter attack move from the South Americans on 20 minutes. Defensive midfielder Ramires found acres of space to dash through before threading a clever pass to Robinho, who easily steered home past Tim Howard. Three minutes later, Kaka darted his way through the US goal, once again facing no challenge, but his attempt to chip Howard hit the side netting. The match gradually turned into a one-way traffic and the Americans were lucky to be just two goals behind when the referee blew for half-time. Red Card and Goal
Brazil remained in charge after the break and Kaka came close to adding a third, but Howard blocked his direct shot. USA were reduced to ten men for the second game running, when Sacha Kljestan saw red in the 56th minute for a harsh tackle on Ramires. Six minutes later, Maicon finished off another remarkable team move, involving Ramires and Kaka. The Inter Milan full-back hit the net from an impossible angle, beating Howard with the help of slight deflection off Jonathan Bronstein. On 68 minutes, Dunga looked to rest his key men as he took off Kaka, Luis Fabiano and Lucio after making sure the game was virtually over. Seven minutes from time, an American attempt on goal finally arrived when substitute Benny Feilhaber rattled the crossbar with a fierce shot from 20 yards. The woodwork denied USA one more time, this time defender Conor Casey was unlucky to his header hit the bar two minutes from the end. Watch the game's highlights
