Real Madrid defender Fabio Cannavaro is linked with a summer move to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich. According to Spanish paper AS, the German champions want to bolster their backline by bringing in the veteran Italian, who has been plying his trade at Real since 2006. Cannavaro's contract with Los Merengues expires at the end of the season, and recent media reports suggested that he has no intention of extending his stay at the Spanish side. The Italy skipper, who moved to Real from Juventus after the latter's Serie A scandal, was once tipped to join Napoli, but club chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis denied the claim. After Bayern were unveiled as one of the 35-year-old's suitors, some Real fans reportedly launched a website just to persuade the Primera Liga holders into offering Cannavaro a contract extension.
