Real Madrid defender Fabio Cannavaro stressed that he wants to stay with the club and be a Champions League winner before making a Serie A return. Since joining Real from Juventus in 2006, Cannavaro could only achieve two domestic league titles at the Santiago Bernabeu. "I want to win the Champions League with this team and only then could I leave calmly," Cannavaro was quoted as saying by Spanish newspaper AS. With his contract set to expire by the end of the season, Cannavaro was heavily linked with a sensational January return to native Napoli. However, Cannavaro insisted that he's content with life in the Spanish capital. "I want to renew my contract with Real Madrid, I'm very settled and I expect to talk to the club to resolve everything before the end of the year," he said. "I don't want to leave because I am happy here and my family is enjoying life in Madrid." Cannavaro is currently on international duty with Italy, preparing for the Azzuri's upcoming World Cup qualifier against Montenegro on October 15th.
