Liverpool coach Rafael Benitez said his side's attacking approach to their Champions League clash against Real Madrid deceived the Spanish giants. The Reds stormed to the competition's quarter-final after thrashing Real 4-0 at Anfield to advance with a 5-0 aggregate win. A brace from Steven Gerrard in addition to goals from Fernando Torres and Andrea Dossena condemned Real to an embarrassing defeat. "They were expecting us to play very deep and on the counter attack," Benitez said after the game. "But we played a different game and tried to put them under pressure from the beginning. Then we were on top of them and I think we could have scored more. "We knew this game would be very tight and very difficult. We showed that we can play in different ways, it showed we are a very good team." Benitez called on his players not to rest on their laurels as Liverpool face a tough test against Premiership leaders Manchester United on Saturday. "It is a great result, but now we have to focus on the game with United," the Spanish tactician added. Liverpool, who haven't won the league since 1990, lie joint second in the table on 58 points, seven behind United, who still have a game in hand.
