Los Angeles Galaxy chairman Tim Leiweke said that AC Milan's bid for English midfielder David Beckham is not up to scratch. Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani revealed a day earlier that both clubs are effectively working out the details of the anticipated permanent deal. All the same, Leiweke sounded his dissatisfaction over the Serie A club's overtures, describing their offer as 'ridiculous'. "Are we close to reaching an agreement with Milan? Not really," Galaxy president Leiweke told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "Milan put a ridiculous offer on the table two weeks ago and I turned it down within seconds. That amount of money wouldn't have even covered the losses in shirt sales." New Bid Leiweke denied receiving a new bid from the Rossoneri as was frequently reported, emphasizing on the fact that LA Galaxy will solely decide on Beckham's future. "Nobody has approached us since and there are no meeting with Milan scheduled," he added. "However, they have contacted other people, including the MLS commissioner and Beckham's agents. This is a mistake because we own his contract." The disgruntled chairman said Milan, who landed the former Real Madrid star on a three-month loan last January, will have to improve their initial offer to show that they mean business. "Maybe they don't understand that we have fans threatening to give up their season tickets and sponsors asking for compensation," Leiweke elaborated. "If Milan really want him then why are they dragging things out? Do they think we will settle for less money? They are wrong. "I have read that Milan director Umberto Gandini will arrive over the next few days. I have a great rapport with him, but the important thing is that they make us a real offer."
