A new English FA regulation will prevent Wigan Athletic striker Mido from facing his original club Middlesbrough, The Evening Post newspaper confirmed. The Egyptian, who joined Middlesbrough in 2006, was loaned out to the Latics in January until the end of the current season. The FA's new regulation prevents players on loan from facing their original clubs in any competition, in order to avoid any clash of interests between players and clubs. Previously, the participation of loaned-out players against their clubs was allowed or prevented according to mutual agreements between the involved parties and not the FA. Marlon King, who went in the other direction as part of Mido's loan to Wigan, will also not be able to play against Steve Bruce's team. Mido already played two games for Wigan, where he scored a penalty-kick on his debut against Liverpool.
