Reports coming from Spain suggest that giants Real Madrid and Barcelona are looking to sign AC Milan playmaker Kaka next summer. According to Spanish paper AS, presidency elections at both clubs will fuel the race to sign the player, as runners look to enhance their campaigns. The Brazilian international nearly joined Manchester City for 107 million, after the Premiership club offered him a hefty salary £500,000 a week. However, after reconsidering the deal, the 2007 world player of the year opted to stay with Milan and repay the Rossoneri's fans faith in him. Milan's David Beckham revealed on Tuesday that 27-year-old Kaka rejected City's offer because the latter wants to join Real Madrid in the summer. AS added that Barca's president Juan Laporta has promised voters to bring Kaka to Nou Camp in case he's re-elected. Meanwhile, Real's presidency contenders Ramon Calderon and Florentino Perez have both individually said they will buy Kaka if any of them wins the club's elections.
