Ahli have decided not to sign Brazilian trialist Gilian, after the striker failed to impress the team's technical staff. The 24-year-old trained with the Cairo for two weeks, but assistant coach Hossam Al-Badri that Ahli won't be offering him a contract. "Gilian is a good player, but we decided against signing him," Al-Badri told Ahli's official website. "His abilities don't match what we're looking for in purchasing a striker." Signing Gilian would have caused a dilemma for Ahli, who already have three foreign players in their domestic squad. Egyptian Football Association (EFA) rules oblige every league team to register no more than three non-Egyptians within their list.
