Refaat satisfied with Al-Sayed 's contract extension
Published in FilGoal on 23 - 12 - 2008

Zamalek caretaker coach Ahmed Refaat voiced his satisfaction over Abdul-Wahed Al-Sayed's contract extension, saying his one of the loyal homegrown figures in the team's ranks.
The veteran goalie has officially extended his contract for three years on Thursday, to put an end to speculations about his future once and for all.
"We talked him into penning a new contract with no difficulties whatsoever," the interim boss told Zamalek's official website.
A while back, media reports linked the 31-year-old with a move to Ahli, which prompted the White Knights to reach a new agreement with their first-choice guardian.
"I asked Al-Sayed about his alleged negotiations with Ahli, and he strenuously denied contacting any of their officials," said Refaat.
"He assured that he ready to sign a contact extension whenever we want."
The temporary tactician also heaped praise on the goalie for setting a good example for his teammates.
"He's definitely a role model. He has never let us down and always does a great job between the sticks," he added.

Commitment
On the other hand, the in-form goalkeeper said that he's delighted to extend his stay at Zamalek.
"I am ecstatic over the new agreement, I cannot describe how happy I am," Al-Sayed said.
He pointed out that he hasn't considered moving away from the club as was rumored in the past few months.
"I am totally committed to Zamalek. The idea of betraying my beloved club has never crossed my mind," he commented on his departure rumors.
"I met with Refaat, whom I deem my God father, and we have both agreed on the new terms in no time.
"We didn't discuss the financial issues. I would rather let the boardroom decide my fees."
Morover, Al-Sayed revealed that he was planning to carry on his career abroad, but his emotional attachment to the Cairo giants prevented him from realizing his dream.
The five-time African champions also unveiled that duo Gamal Hamza and Mohamed Aboul-Ella are going to extend their contracts in the immediate future.
