Cristian Chivu's injury turned out to be a ruptured knee collateral ligament, not just a minor strain as previously believed. The Inter Milan defender got hurt after twisting his knee during Saturday's away 3-2 win over Reggina. The Nerazzurri's official website announced the Romanian player is suffering a torn internal collateral ligament in his left knee. However, Chivu is not going to undergo an operation as the medical staff preferred non-surgical therapy. It's widely expected the international player will be sidelined for approximately 30 days.
