Nigerian Football Federation chairman Sani Lulu called on all football fans in his country to back Enyimba when they play Ahli in the Champions League semis on Sunday. Enyimba host the Egyptian champions in the first leg and eye a big victory before playing the decisive second leg in Cairo later in October. "We sincerely hope and pray that Nigerians get behind this team that has an opportunity to bring us glory," Lulu was quoted as saying by Kick Off Nigeria. Two-time African champions Enyimba reached the last four after finishing Group B second to Cotton Sport from Cameroon. Ahli, who share with Zamalek a record of five Champions League titles, advanced as Group A winners, followed by Dynamos Harare of Zimbabwe. Lulu also has written a letter of support to Enyimba's players and staff, urging them to go all the way towards the golden medal. "Your qualification fills us with joy and we wish and pray that you will do everything possible to scale the semi final hurdle against Ahli of Egypt," Lulu stated in the letter. "We also pray that you will go on to eventually win the trophy, to make it a third triumph in Africa's prime Club championship."
