Wigan hot shot Amr Zaki won't let England's rough winter impede his dazzling form with the Latics as he issues a warning to the Premier League's big guns. The Bulldozer made a terrific start with Wigan, scoring five goals in his first six games to repay manager Steve Bruce's determination to sign him from Zamalek. Fears have been raised over Zaki's ability to maintain his form when winter strikes, an issue which marred the Egyptian's spell with Lokomotiv Moscow two years ago. However, the Zak is adamant that this time around he will be ready to face the weather and keep the goals flowing at the JJB. "I won't let the weather get in the way. The cold encourages you to run more to keep warm," Zaki said in the Daily Mail. "I prefer not to discuss Lokomotiv, I don't want to disrespect the club or upset the fans there." Wigan sweet Home Zaki revealed that he will not be lured by a high-profile-club offer as he feels happy with Wigan.
"I feel at home here," he said. "If any other club came in for me I would still want to stay at Wigan." "Yes, even Manchester United, even though Steve Bruce used to play there." The former Mansoura star stressed that he had no desire in joining a big club where he'd stay on the bench, adding that Bruce was a key factor in bringing him to Wigan. "I cannot believe the determination of Steve Bruce. He spent six months trying to sign me. Now I want to show him that I am worth all his efforts. "Zamalek didn't want me to leave, but I begged them because I wanted to play in England." Goals and targets Zaki is proud to be establishing himself as one of the Premiership stars, but the 25-year-old has his eyes set on bigger targets. "Every match is a new challenge for me — it does not matter what I did in the last one," he added. "It's an honor to be playing against all these good defenders, who are stars at their own club. This is the strongest league in the world."
