British newspapers have hailed Wigan Athletic striker Amr Zaki in the wake of the Egyptian's impressive Premiership start. Since completing his one-year loan move from Zamalek to Athletic, Zaki made an instant impact scoring four times in four Premiership games for the Latics. The Egyptian international's performance against Sunderland on Saturday earned him the man of the match award after his 78th minute strike saved Wigan from a home defeat. "When Zaki announced that he believed he could be the Premiership's top scorer this season, a wave of knowing smiles and suppressed grins were raised. Not any more," The Guardian wrote about Zaki on Monday. "Against Sunderland, he was the biggest threat throughout the encounter." Zaki is proving his critics wrong after Wigan manager Steve Bruce said he considers Zaki to be one of the World's best strikers, a statement that was considered a bit too much by Premiership followers allover England. "Zaki has booked a place within the League top scorer contenders. Everyone who doubted the Egyptian should be silenced now," wrote The Daily Mail. "While blockbuster signings Berbatov and Robinho were struggling to score on their debuts, Zaki was already one of the competition top scorers."
