A deflected strike from Darren Fletcher gave Manchester United their first Premiership win of the season at the expense of Portsmouth. Fletcher, who scored United's goal in the 1-1 opening draw with Newcastle, was lucky to see his shot scrambling off Sol Campbell into the net. The Premiership holders welcomed back Brazil midfielder Anderson and striker Carlos Tevez, who missed the opener for family bereavement. The Red Devils have four points from two games, while Pompey remain point-less after losing the opener against Chelsea. The FA Cup holders have also lost to United in the Charity Shield two weeks ago, courtesy of a penalty shootout.
