Hamburg's defender Vincent Kompany signed a four-year deal with English Premier League side Manchester City on Friday. "We wish Vincent all the best for his future," said Hamburg's director of football Dietmar Beiersdorfer. The 22-year old versatile defender will travel to England to pass the medicals and complete the move. The transfer fee hasn't been revealed but it is believed to be around 6million pounds. Kompany joined Hamburg in 2006, coming from Anderlecht, and has been linked with moves to Arsenal, AC Milan and Bayern Munich. New Manchester City boss Mark Hughes is delighted with his third summer signing as he is willing to strengthen his shaky defense that conceded four goals last week-end against Aston Villa. Skysports.com revealed that Hughes is still tracking three more signings to help the team clinch a Champions League spot.
