Former Barcelona midfielder Luis Enrique could be appointed as Pep Guardiola's assistant at the Catalans' helm next season, according to Spanish daily Marca. Guardiola, who will take over from Frank Rijkaard after the end of the season, has met Enrique to discuss the possibility of the latter joining Barca's coaching staff. Enrique enjoys a warm relationship with Guardiola as both men played together for five years with Barcelona. The 37-year-old had an eight-year spell with Barcelona after joining from arch-rivals Real Madrid in 1996. Enrique announced his retirement from professional football in 2004.
