Egypt's African Cup of Nations winning squad have flied to Dubai on Tuesday, following an invitation by city ruler and UAE vice-president Mohamed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum. Egyptian FA chairman Samir Zaher praised the gesture made by Al-Maktoum, who also invited Asian champions Iraq last summer, presenting the team with a hefty $5.5M. The UAE prime minister's official site issued a statement congratulating the Egyptian team for their feat, which he considered to be a 'victory for all Arabs'. "We are grateful to Sheikh Al-Maktoum's gesture, he has always been offering a lot to Arab football and sports in general," Zaher told FilGoal.com. "This is a huge responsibility on us, we now have to look on the 2010 World Cup in South Africa."
