Atletico Madrid have reportedly joined the race to sign Liverpool midfielder Mohamed Sissoko in January. Spanish newspaper Marca revealed that Atletico are looking to lure him as a replacement for Portuguese midfielder Maniche who moved to Inter Milan. The Malian midfielder has been linked with Juventus over the past few weeks but the negotiations were interrupted after President Giovanni Gigli said that the Bianconeri won't spend any money in January. The door is wide open for the Spanish side to complete the deal especially that their bosses have already done good business with the Reds bosses in Fernando Torres and Luis Garcia's deals. The 23-year old player would bring much strength and solidity to this vital department in Javier Aguirre squad.
