Hamburg coach Huub Stevens will leave the German side at the end of the season to join PSV Eindhoven, Dutch paper Eindhovens Dagblad reported on Monday. Stevens decided not to renew his deal, which runs out in the summer, and accepted a switch to Eindhoven, the paper stated. The Eredivisie champions will hold a press conference during the coming few hours to announce that Stevens signed a deal that will keep him at Philips Stadion until 2010. The 53-year-old coach will succeed Ronald Koeman, who left Eindhoven to take over at Spanish side Valencia. The news may come as a boost to Egyptian forward Mohamed Zidan, who has been restricted to substitute appearances under Stevens. Stevens was appointed as Hamburg coach in February 2007 following the departure of Thomas Doll. He led Hamburg to a seventh-place finish in the Bundesliga as the club played in the Intertoto Cup before securing passage to the UEFA Cup, Europe's secondary competition.
