Sparkling Barakat Puts off Etoile Flame
Published in FilGoal on 27 - 10 - 2007

Mohamed Barakat has once again proved to be an indispensible member of Ahli's squad, putting in an impressive display in the team's goalless draw with Etoile Sahel.
The mercurial midfielder helped Ahli grab a goalless away draw against Etoile, whose French name means star, in the first-leg of the CAF Champions League final in Sousse.
In FilGoal.com player ratings, Barakat earned the highest points, just like he did in Ahli's 1-0 Cairo derby victory over arch-rivals Zamalek.
Essam Al-Hadari (7.5): despite being shaky in a couple of attacking attempts from Etoile, the guardian managed to keep the opponents at bay with some solid saves.
Emad Al-Nahhas (6): produced an average display as he didn't commit fatal errors but, however, wasn't at his best.
Shadi Mohamed (6): should be appreciated for his efforts but his outcome did not live up to expectations.
Wael Gomaa (5): justified why Manuel Jose has left him out of Ahli's squad lately as his sluggishness paved way for Etoile's Gilson Silva to impose threat on Al-Hadari.

Islam Al-Shater (5): his too many mispasses could have taken its toll on Ahli. He neither fulfilled his defensive duties nor contributed to his side's counter attacks.
Ahmed Al-Sayed (6): the central defender was relatively good given that he played out of position and having to fill in for Angolan winger Gilberto.
Hossam Ashour (4): Hassan Mostafa would have probably produced better display had he played instead of Ashour, whose overall performance was not so good.
Anis Boujelbene (5): the Tunisian midfielder gave away many passes and wasn't effective in defensive and offensive aspects.
Mohamed Abou-Treika (6): the talented playmaker, who had all the eyes on him, wasn't lively as usual as he wasn't successful in feeding Angolan striker Flavio.
Mohamed Barakat (8.5): the versatile midfielder was impressive, running everywhere on the pitch and producing scares on Etoile goalie. His pace was decisive in helping him overcome the Tunisian defenders.
Flavio (6.5): apart from an assist to Barakat, the Angolan striker didn't make a notable impact in the match.
