Espanyol missed a chance to go joint top of the Spanish Primera Liga after registering a 2-2 draw at Real Mallorca on Saturday. Mallorca were ahead after just two minutes through Juan Arango, but the Venezuelan winger cancelled out his opener with a 21st minute own goal. Espanyol skipper Raul Tamudo gave the visitors the lead with a 26th minute penalty, before Daniel Guiza leveled the scoring on 69 minutes. The tense game included two red cards as Mallorca's Sergio Ballesteros and Espanyol's Clemente Rodriguez were shown straight red. The draw left Espanyol in fifth place with 17 points from nine games, two points adrift of leaders Real Madrid, while Mallorca are sixth with 15.
