Sevilla player Antonio Puerta's condition is 'very serious' after collapsing and losing consciousness during his side's match against Getafe, according to the doctors who treat him. After 35 minutes of the Primera Liga game, the Spanish international fell to the ground and appeared to have lost consciousness for a brief period. He was then able to walk off the pitch but collapsed again in the changing rooms. "He is in the intensive care unit where he has been given assisted ventilation and is experiencing hemodynamic instability," the hospital said in a medical report. Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido praised the medical staff for their quick dealing with the incident, saying that Puerta's life was in danger. "Fortunately the club doctors and the machines managed to resuscitate him but we experienced some terrible moments because the life of the player was in danger," he told the club's official website.
