Egyptian star striker Ahmed Hossam "Mido" promised to do all his best for his new team Middlesbrough, who is nothing less than Tottenham, and that he has a huge hunger for goal scoring. "I don't see Middlesbrough as being at a lower level than Tottenham. I remember that when I signed for them they finished ninth and in my first season they finished fifth, just two points outside a Champions League place." Mido told a press conference at the club's Rockliffe Park training ground. And when asked if he left White Hart Lane due to troubles with his manager he said, "I've never had a problem with Martin Jol, he's a good manager, but I wanted to be playing and scoring goals. I didn't find myself doing that at Tottenham and that's why I wanted to leave." After making a huge impact with the Spurs in his first 18-month-loan spell, the 24-year-old Egyptian striker lost his regular starting place to Bulgarian Dimitar Berbatov and only made a handful of starts last season. "You can see how the club is ambitious and that there is the quality here to be in the top six, this is where I want to be and hopefully I can play a big role in helping them achieve this. I'm very confident with the quality here I can help Middlesbrough get back into Europe." Manager Gareth Southgate also hailed the qualities and spirit of Mido saying that he is technically very gifted and has a hunger to score goals. "He is single-minded and has an edge to him, which is something the squad needs. We need people who are going to stand up and be counted. I need players who say 'Bring it on'. We lack belief in some areas right now, but Mido has plenty of it." Despite lacking of match practice Mido is set to travel with the team to London to face Fulham on Saturday.
