Egyptian manager Mahmoud Al-Gohari is tipped to take over as the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) technical director, FA president Samir Zaher revealed. Zaher said that Al-Gohari, who recently quit as Jordan national teams supervisor, is considering an offer from the EFA as technical director. "We approached Al-Gohari for the technical director role in the EFA, and he said that he will ponder the offer and reply soon," the FA president told FilGoal.com exclusively. The 68-year-old coach rejected Zaher's offer to coach the Egyptian U-20 national team in April, but this time the EFA chief is more optimistic. "The last couple of times we approached Al-Gohari, he instantly rejected our offer, but this time he asked for a chance to consider his options," Zaher added. "The final decision regarding this matter will be taken by the end of July." Al-Gohari will return from Jordan on July 21st after he terminates his contract with the Asian nation. The former Ahli coach is regarded by many as the most successful in Egypt's football history, as he guided Egypt to the 1990 World Cup, before winning the African Nations Cup in 1998.
