CAIRO: Mahmoud Al-Gohari is reconsidering whether to coach Ismaili after resigning from his post as the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) technical director. Ismaili, who are yet to appoint a new coach following the resignation of Emad Soliman, recently approached Al-Gohari with regards to their vacant managerial seat. But the former Ahly and Zamalek tactician said he was not interested in returning to club management. However, after leaving the EFA, Al-Gohari is reconsidering Ismaili's offer. "Al-Gohari told us that he needs two days to decide whether to accept our offer, a club source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told FilGoal.com on Wednesday. Soliman's assistant Khaled Al-Qammash is temporarily in charge of Ismaili's first-team affairs. The Dervishes impressed in the early stages of the season, topping the Egyptian League table with 10 points from four games. Al-Gohari, 71, is a highly-respected coach who enjoyed a great success while in charge of the Egyptian national team. He helped Egypt qualify for the 1990 World Cup, the country s last appearance in the prestigious showpiece. Al-Gohari also steered the Pharaohs to African Cup of Nations triumph in 1998.
