Tanta became officially the third relegated team this season with Asyut Petroleum and Olympic of Alexandria after losing to Haras Al-Hoddoud 2-1 on Monday in matchday 29.
Ahmed Abdel Ghani, '30, and Amr Al-Dali, '54, scored for the hosts while Tamer Wahid scored Tanta's consolation goal 10 minutes before time.
With only one match to go, Tanta are at the 14th place with 25 points 5 behind Suez Cement and Ittihad of Alexandria.
Defender Rami Adel and Ihab Al-Masri led Arab Contractors to a 4-3 thriller victory over Cuez Cement. Adel, 18 and 67, and Al-Masri, 37 and 58, had each a brace to beat goals from Ekrami Abdul-Aziz, 4 and 18, and George Areno, 89.
Walid Soliman scored the only goal of Petrojet against Enppi at the 16th minute of the game to put his team at the 7th place with 37 points two ahead of the latter.
At Port Said Masri stunned hopeless Olympic of Alexandria 3-0 thanks to goals from Mohamed Ashour El-Adham '41, Ossama Al-Sayed '65, and Saied Rabie '74.
And finally Ghazl Al-Mahalla conceded a shock defeat at home from Al-Gaish 2-1. Sameh Al-Aidaros opened the scoring five minutes before the break but Mohamed Atteya leveled the score to 1-1 ten minutes later but Anwar Massoud had the last word at the 63rd minute.
Although Ghazl Al-Mahalla remain 4th while Al-Gaish moved one up to the fifth place.
