Esperance president, Aziz Zouhir, revealed his fear of drawing with Ahli in the same group of the CAF Champions League quarter-finals, claiming that the Egyptians are currently the best in Africa. Esperance reached the quarter-finals group phase after beating Young Africans of Tanzania, 3-0 on aggregate, to join Ahli who qualified at the expense of South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns. Other high-profile names in the 8-team contest include Esperance compatriots Etoile Sahel and Abidjan giants ASEC Mimosas. However, Zouhir claims that his team has nothing to worry about more than facing the Egyptian giants before the final. "Ahli are the strongest, and it is better not to have them in our group and may be play them in the final," Zouhir told BBC Sport. "If you have them in the group it means three other teams will have to fight for the second place." The Tunisian president said that his team will be subject to some renovation in preparation for the group phase due to start in June. "We are trying to sign five new players to replace some whose contracts will run out in June," Zouhir added. "We want to have a strong team for the next round of matches. "We will try to sign players who have the character and skills to play in the African Champions League. Zouhir refused to add more information regarding his summer targets to reinforce the squad. "I will not reveal the identity of the players we have in mind because everyone will know and the price will go up.
