The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) confirmed that their Kuwaiti counterparts accepted the new date for the friendly between the two teams to be on the 12th of June, the EFA announced on its official site. EFA's official spokesman Medhat Shalabi said that the Kuwaiti Football Association (KFA) responded positively to Egypt's request to abandon the game due to the continental and regional commitments for most of Egypt's squad. The fixture marked for the testimonial of Kuwaiti midfielder Abdullah Al-Wabran was initially scheduled for the 16th of April before taking a couple of date shifts to end up in the 12th of June. The KFA stressed that the fixture date is final and that an additional clause will be added to the primary contract between the two federations to preserve the rights of the Kuwaiti party.
