Liverpool thrash PSV 3-0

Liverpool are on the verge of qualifying to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals after a 3-0 drubbing of PSV in Eindhoven on Tuesday.
A goal from captain Steven Gerrard in the 27th minute was complemented by second-half goals from John Arne Riise and Peter Crouch to seal the victory for the five-time champions.
The win provides Liverpool with a comfortable cushion in the second-leg of the competitions quarter-finals that will take place at Anfield next Wednesday.
Gerrard opened the score when he connected with Steve Finnan's inch-perfect cross and headed home easily past Brazilian keeper Gomes.
Riise doubled the lead with a sizzling trademark drive from 20 meters out in the 63rd minute.
Crouch sealed the win when he towered to head home from another Finnan cross with 15 minutes left to play.
