European champions Liverpool thrashed North American opposite number Deportivo Saprissa of Costa Rica 3-0 on Thursday to reach the final of the Club World Championship (CWC) in Japan. Peter Crouch registered a brace while captain Steven Gerrard struck in the 32nd minute to secure Liverpool's passage to the final. The Reds will face Brazilian giants Sao Paulo in the CWC final game on Sunday which will be preceded by the third place playoff between Saprissa and Ittihad Jeddah of Saudi Arabia. Liverpool came on with all guns blazing and grabbed an early lead through Crouch who fired a first timer home after being set-up by Djibril Cisse in the 3rd minute. In the 32nd minute, Gerrard collected a cross from John Arne Riise and unleashed a powerful long range drive past Saprissa keeper Jose Porras to put Liverpool two up. Crouch completed the rout when he pounced on a defensive mistake from Saprissa to guide home the third.
