Frank Lampard leveled the score in the 21st minute after he connected with Michael Ballack's mis-hit shot before volleying home from close-range. Tottenham restored their lead through an own goal by Michael Essien seven minutes later as the Ghanaian midfielder converted Lennon's harmless cross into his own net.
Ghaly scored Tottenham's third Egyptian international midfielder Ghaly added the third for the visitors in the 36th minute when he picked the ball in his own half, raced through the midfield before his pass was intercepted by Ashley Cole. The ball then ballooned high in the air and the former Ahli midfielder controlled it on his chest and went clear on goal before slotting past Cech. Lampard pulled one back for Chelsea in the 70th minute after taking advantage of a goal-mouth scramble to hit a low shot home following Arjen Robben's corner. Substitute Salomon Kalou secured the draw four minutes from time when he met Didier Drogba's across header with a first-timer into the back of the net.
